Client Environment
Atmos Energy delivers natural gas to customers across multiple states through dozens of operational divisions. Its brand has to show up the same way in a field crew’s truck, a district office, and a corporate lobby. Merchandise, apparel, and recognition items are ordered by many people in many places, none of whom are merchandise buyers by trade.
The Starting Problem
Decentralized ordering produced three predictable failures: one-off requests with no shared catalog, inconsistent sourcing that let the brand drift from location to location, and manual fulfillment that turned every order into a project. Atmos needed a program that would scale with the company, adapt as needs changed, and never require its internal team to become merchandise experts.
Program Architecture
BLP built and manages the Atmos Energy Employee Store, a private branded storefront where Atmos employees log in, browse approved items, and order on demand.
Catalog design. Organized by category (apparel, headwear, drinkware, office items) with a dedicated “Need It Now” section for fast-moving essentials.
Two-speed fulfillment. “Need It Now” items are stocked at BLP’s Garland, Texas fulfillment center and ship immediately with no minimums and no production lead time. The broader catalog is produced on demand through BLP’s supplier network and shipped directly to the employee, which keeps inventory lean and program cost efficient.
Storefront experience. A modern e-commerce interface with category browsing, wishlists, and a standard cart flow.
Brand governance. BLP conducts a full store refresh every year: new products added, discontinued items retired, catalog checked against current Atmos brand standards. In 2026, BLP launched a completely redesigned Atmos storefront.
Managed service. BLP owns the catalog, the inventory conversation, the fulfillment, and the reporting. The Atmos internal team approves; it does not administer.
